GSC Logistics holds environmental stewardship as one of its core organizational objectives. We are committed to developing and implementing effective and innovative environmental programs to reduce the impact of our operations on the environment.

As our commitment to improving the environment, GSC Logistics is deeply involved with various initiatives:

Maritime Air Quality Improvement Plan (MAQIP) GSC Logistics, in partnership with the Port of Oakland, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project, and maritime industry representation has engaged in a planning process for the development of a Maritime Air Quality Improvement Plan. The planning process included a series of public meetings throughout 2007 and 2008.

Providing MAQIP Leadership

The planning process for MAQIP was led by four co-chairs: Andy Garcia, chairman of the board, GSC Logistics; Past Executive Director, Port of Oakland; Jack Broadbent, chief executive officer, Bay Area Air Quality Management District; Brian Beveridge and the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project.

Coalition for Responsible Transportation (CRT)

As a partner in CRT, GSC Logistics is committed to addressing the environmental issues with our community and being a good corporate citizen. We have partnered with other members of our industry to collectively work towards addressing the important issues affecting our community. We urge other shippers, trucking companies and carriers to join us in working together to find meaningful solutions.
